COURSE OVERVIEW

In Part One of The Liver Delivers, Dr. John Millar explored a wide range of liver-related conditions, from acute hepatitis and biliary colic through fatty degeneration, fibrosis, cirrhosis, tumors, and cancer. Along the way, he examined the relevant rubrics and the remedies most strongly indicated for each condition.

In The Liver Delivers, Part Two, we continue and extend this exploration,
 but with a different approach.

Rather than beginning with a condition and asking which remedies may be indicated, we will turn our attention to the individual remedies themselves. This course will examine the characteristic liver remedies in greater depth, exploring their broader range of applications and the clinical considerations that extend beyond symptoms and rubric indications.

Join Dr. Millar for an in-depth exploration of liver materia medica, clinical considerations, and, as always, practical case work from his decades of clinical experience.

A NEW BONUS FEATURE: Submit Your Own Case

For the first time, participants will have the opportunity to submit their own cases for Dr. Millar’s consideration and possible discussion during the course.

This unique opportunity offers students an inside look at Dr. Millar’s approach to solving cases. Through selected student cases, you’ll see how an experienced clinician:

  • Perceives and organizes the information in a case
  • Determines which symptoms and characteristics are most important
  • Reviews the materia medica of the remedies being considered
  • Works through differential possibilities
  • Selects a remedy
  • Considers dosage and other prescribing considerations

Cases with a primary focus on liver-related dysfunction or pathology will be given priority. Complete cases are encouraged, but incomplete cases may be considered as well, as they can provide valuable opportunities for clinical learning.

Cases must be submitted by September 30.
Dr. Millar may select several cases for discussion throughout the course. Submissions received by September 30 will receive priority consideration.

Why Take This Course?

If you’re familiar with Dr. Millar’s teaching, you already know his signature: practical, case-based learning.

Part Two offers an opportunity to go beyond simply recognizing which remedies may be indicated for a particular liver condition. By studying the remedies themselves in greater depth, you’ll develop a broader understanding of their clinical pictures and how they can be differentiated and applied in practice.

And with the opportunity to see Dr. Millar work through student-submitted cases, you’ll gain a firsthand look at the clinical reasoning behind remedy selection.

Remedies to be Covered

Remedies discussed during the course may include:

Lycopodium, Natrum sulphuricum, Cholesterinum, Nux vomica, Colocynthis, Phosphorus, Sulphur, Ptelea, Croton tiglium, Magnesia phosphorica, Mercurius, Fel tauri, Dioscorea, Phytolacca, Juglans cinerea, Chelidonium, Digitalis, Sepia, Hydrastis, Cynara scolymus, Chelone glabra, Chionanthus virginicus, Carduus marianus, Berberis vulgaris, Vanadium, Myrica cerifera, Bryonia, Magnesia muriatica, Taraxacum officinale, Germander, Manganum, and more.

For each remedy, Dr. Millar will consider:

  • Its relationship to liver pathology and related conditions
  • Its broader materia medica
  • Miasmatic considerations
  • Remedy reactions
  • Duration of action
  • Differential considerations
  • Other clinical observations that can help guide prescribing

Step into a deeper study of liver materia medica, clinical reasoning, and case analysis with Dr. John Millar. Explore the remedies beyond their rubrics, see how they differentiate in practice, and experience the clinical thinking that goes into finding the right remedy. Increase your effectiveness in practice and ability to help your clients!

PRAISE FOR John Millar

I just want to say that Dr. Millar is a tremendous teacher in this webinar format. He brings ready access to multiple sources and approaches to homeopathy and is relaxed and helpful about people’s questions. And pleasant and lots of fun to listen to/watch. It feels immediate even though I am doing it by video from thousands of miles away.
I’m not writing this as something to go into a blurb for his courses, but to say that if he tolerates this format well enough to keep doing it, course after course, that would be tremendous news.

— Sarah D.

Dr. Millar was a superb teacher and had good organization and content . . . His experience and breadth of knowledge kept me engaged the entire time.

— Gloria St John

I just want to thank everyone involved and especially Dr. Millar for these excellent classes! I am not available Thursday evenings, and have been enjoying listening to the classes later and at a slower pace. I look forward to more.

Learning is a lifelong journey. I have been blessed with wonderful teachers in my life.....but every now and then you encounter one who does more than teach......one who inspires you to think beyond the curriculum and draw from perhaps dusty corners of your mind. John Millar is such a teacher. In his classroom, the subject matter becomes alive, meaningful and relevant.... and fascinating! The power of Classical Homeopathy is revealed in all its healing beauty and the student is changed forever - no longer able to think in limited ways - but instead enriched with sound knowledge, wisdom, creativity and compassion.

— Catherine Elliott

John’s teaching has always made Homeopathy tangible and exciting. John has so much incredible information to share and is always encouraging his students to continue learning. I frequently look back on my notes from John’s classes and am always thankful to have had him as a teacher.
