Dr. Maryann Ivons was an ER and ICU nurse for 12 years, before becoming a Naturopathic physician in 1987. She spent 25 years in private practice in Monroe, Washington. She taught at both Bastyr University and the Seattle School of Homeopathy. In 2012 she exchanged her farm in the frigid northwest for the sun of Phoenix to be Chair of Clinical Medicine and Clinical Training, and then Dean of Academic Affairs at the American Medical Collage of Homeopathy. She is the author of Homeopathy for Nurses and a contributor to Integrative Cardiology by Vogel and Krucoff.

Dr. Ivons is currently working with a team of homeopaths developing a tool for homeopathic acute care and first aid, Homeopathic HouseCall. She is also creating continuing medical education online classes about holistic medicine.
