Dr. Bekker was born in the Ukraine and came to the U.S. when he was ten years old. He has an undergraduate degree in English Literature and Philosophy. After teaching English at the community level he decided to pursue his medical education. He received his medical degree in 1996 from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
