A Case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
with John Millar, BSc, ND, DHANP, CCH, HOM
18 December 2025, 5:00 PM-6:00 PM PST
Join Dr. Millar for an overview of his new course! He will show you how to perceive your clients’ particular manifestation of stress and arrive at the correct simillimum. He will also present a case of post-traumatic stress disorder.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Every individual experiences the effect of stress in their own way, and each requires a corresponding remedy: one that reflects both the stressor and the individual’s perception and reaction. From the perceived terror of Stramonium, to the numbness-induced fear of Opium, or the paralytic anxiety of Conium, the individual perception of the stressor and the coping strategies are what we must discern in order to help our patients. How do we go from general terms like stress and trauma, to a deeper, individualized understanding of each patient’s suffering? How can we help our patients cope and thrive in these challenging times?
Join Dr. Millar for this essential course as he guides us on an in-depth investigation of stress: from modern physiology, psychology, and pathology, through its homeopathic understanding and relevance in the consulting room.
- Syndromes like those outlined in the DSM-5, e.g: Reactive Attachment Disorder, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder, Acute Stress Disorder, etc.- Homeopathic cases, remedies, and rubrics both old and new. Cases of, and remedies for simple day to day stressors as well as traumatic, life-altering stress will be included.
- Healthy stress management tools such as meditation and exercise will be discussed.
What is Stress?
Stress can be physical or psychological. Stressors manifest their effects on the physical or mental/emotional planes (or both). Stress manifests in every part of an individual’s being: from the effects of coping and managing trauma, to the accumulated effects of day in and day out worry, apprehension and anticipation. Stress can provoke or exacerbate maladaptive behaviors and coping mechanisms like drug and alcohol abuse.
From a pathophysiological point of view, stress is a rather strange phenomenon. No stress, and the individual falls to develop and grow, and can even atrophy and wither away. Too much stress, and the person fails to cope, develops maladaptive behaviors, and may ultimately break down. Locating the balance point, creating healthy stressors, and managing and handling the periods of excess stress is the goal.Conditions to be presented:

PRAISE FOR John Millar
I just want to say that Dr. Millar is a tremendous teacher in this webinar format. He brings ready access to multiple sources and approaches to homeopathy and is relaxed and helpful about people’s questions. And pleasant and lots of fun to listen to/watch. It feels immediate even though I am doing it by video from thousands of miles away.
I’m not writing this as something to go into a blurb for his courses, but to say that if he tolerates this format well enough to keep doing it, course after course, that would be tremendous news.

Learning is a lifelong journey. I have been blessed with wonderful teachers in my life.....but every now and then you encounter one who does more than teach......one who inspires you to think beyond the curriculum and draw from perhaps dusty corners of your mind. John Millar is such a teacher. In his classroom, the subject matter becomes alive, meaningful and relevant.... and fascinating! The power of Classical Homeopathy is revealed in all its healing beauty and the student is changed forever - no longer able to think in limited ways - but instead enriched with sound knowledge, wisdom, creativity and compassion.
