Using Nutrition in Cardiovascular Disease

This special four hour class will focus on the powerful interplay between nutritional and metabolic alterations which affect cardiovascular disease. The sessions will help both students and practitioners to develop effective strategies against the nutrition-related epidemics of metabolic and cardiovascular disorders. Through the presentation of original clinical and experimental findings, participants will develop a clear understanding of the clinical and preventive nutrition approaches for this rampant 21st Century health crisis. Emphasis will be placed on the origins, the mechanisms and the means to prevent and control atherosclerosis, hypertension, and other nutrition-related cardiovascular disorders.
